November 10th saw over 180 people from the South East of England, arriving at The School for Profound Education at the Children’s Trust in Tadworth. Families, specialist medical and therapeutic practioners, staff and board members of Rett UK took part in the largest gathering of the Rett Community in England for many years.
There was a wide range of activities to suit everyone including: lectures on the latest research and therapeutic breakthroughs; sensory and soft play areas for children and people with Rett syndrome; arts and crafts, puzzle and games competition; and plenty of time for everyone to catch up with old friends; make new friends and have fun. The event ended with a spectacular concert from the Steel Band from a local school, rounding off a wonderful day for everyone.
